The Banana Stripes ontstonden in 2008 op een zolderkamer in Meigem met punkambities maar al snel ontgroeiden ze deze en begonnen ze Ska nummers te schrijven, ook dit bleek de ware sound niet te zijn tot ze bij alternatieve Pop Punk terechtkwamen en hun ding vonden. In 2009 brachten ze hun demo uit en in 2013 komen ze geheel terug met een gloednieuwe akoestische cd!
